Who wouldn’t? In 1994, we made the mistake of giving our map to the Dallas Morning News. Our route was published in almost every major market newspaper. Many attempters following our trip shared their route with us and all conspicuously resembled our route. In 1999, after breaking our own record with a time of 104 hours and 57 minutes and a new route consisting of 6,766 miles, we no longer shared our information, or any of our documents, with anyone outside of Guinness representatives and three third party witnesses who verified our logs, photos, etc.
Ted Jacobs mapped out this new 6,550 mile 48 State Drive route, the envy of anyone who would ever want to attempt this trip. Top secret? You bet!
All of the documents for our June, 2010 48 State Drive will be verified by Tom Tradup (V.P./News & Talk Programming SALEM Radio Network.)(Lewisville, TX), Roland Jeter, Attorney at Law (Irving, TX)and Kenneth Branam, pastor of Plymouth Park Baptist Church (Irving, TX).
